Job Summary:
The full-time position supports the work to enhance and engage Festival’s patron relationships, including series subscribers, ticket buyers and donors. The responsibilities encompass all ticket-related functions and providing exceptional customer service to patrons. Engagement responsibilities include managing the website, social media and email communications.

Reporting Relationships
Supervisor: Chief Operating Officer/Director of Marketing

Scope of Responsibilities:

Box Office

  • Provide outstanding customer service to create a noteworthy Festival experience for patrons
  • Serve as main point person in selling tickets for the Festival and any special events
  • In charge of online box office and ticketing database which includes data entry
  • Manage all patron communications including ticket thank you letters and ticket mailings
  • Perform all ticket reporting and analysis of sales
  • In charge of artists’ comps and other comp requests
  • Manage group sales efforts
  • Manage the box office during and before the Festival, including box office assistant, interns and volunteers assigned to the box office
  • Work with Festival accounting/bookkeeper on all box office finances and reconciliation with financial data

Patron Communications

    • Responsible for content and management of social media channels including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram
    • Responsible for website content and maintenance under the direction of the COO
    • In charge of social media reports and analysis
    • Serve as primary copywriter/proofreader for blogs and e-news
    • Develop database pulls and queries for marketing communications and analysis

Miscellaneous duties as assigned

  • Assist with print and materials layout/design

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Excellent customer service skills – must be able to handle different personality types effectively
  • Strong written and oral communication skills – present oneself in a professional manner in writing and on the telephone
  • Computer skills: Intermediate MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of email marketing platforms, WordPress a plus
  • Critical thinking and problem solving – demonstrates creativity and innovation, identifies and solves problems effectively, and demonstrates sound judgment and decision-making
  • Embodies the values of the Festival – supports the intellectual & creative initiatives
  • Projects team spirit and the ability to energize and focus others
  • Diligent, well organized, flexible and able to handle unexpected challenges effectively
  • Expected to work limited nights and weekends. Must be able to work during the Music Festival (2nd weekend of June), Holiday Home Tour & Marketplace (weekend before Thanksgiving), and fundraising event(s). Other events/meetings as needed.
  • Ability to be on one’s feet for several hours at a time during events and ability to lift/move boxes and/or other items weighing 20 pounds.
