Born in 1963, François Narboni was a jazz performer before studying composition at the Paris Conservatory. Narboni has received numerous international awards including scholarships to the Casa Velázquez in Madrid and Villa Médicis hors-les-murs in New York. His pieces include Pandemonium (1988), Wasps (1993), To One (1994-97), Animals (1996), Cri(m) be of New York (1998), OZ (1999), El Gran Masturbador (2000), Neanderthal Fandango (2001), Alpha-Beth (2002), and Seasons (2003). Ojai is pleased to announce the United States premier of Narboni’s El Gran Masturbador at the 2008 Festival. Narboni’s current project is a musical adaptation of Dylan Thomas’ Under Milk Wood.
