Anu Komsi continues to be praised for her versatile musicianship and for her dynamic coloratura voice. Equally at home on both opera and concert stages, she has appeared regularly all over Europe and in the United States. Komsi is a versatile recitalist and chamber musician with a repertory ranging from renaissance music to cutting-edge contemporary music.

Engagements in Paris Bastille, Stuttgart, Frankfurt am Main, Munich Gärtnerplatz, Finnish National Opera, Paris Chatelet, Paris T&M – Odeon, Strasbourg and Budapest, among others keep her busy in her operatic career. Her repertoire includes over 40 operatic roles including Lulu, Zerbinetta, Norina, Stravinsky´s Nightingale, Mysteries of Macabre by Ligeti, Philomela by James Dillon. One of her biggest successes recently has been the virtuoso role in Morton Feldman´s
Neither in Stuttgart State Opera, highly acclaimed in the international press,
Komsi has also appeared as soloist with numerous leading orchestras in Europe and in many of the most prominent concert halls throughout Europe and the United States. She has collaborated with important conductors like Sir Norrington, Oliver Knussen, Sakari Oramo, Osmo Vänskä, Rudolf Barshai, Leif Segerstam, Jukka-Pekka Saraste and George Benjamin. Her collaboration
with Esa-Pekka Salonen began in 1988 with the world premiere of FLOOF including a recording (Warner) and since the premiere approximately 30 performances all over the world. Salonen composed his orchestral work Wing on Wing showcasing the Komsi coloratura twin-sisters.

Cantatrix Sopranica by Korean composer Unsuk Chin was also composed for the Komsi twins. Season 2005-2006 included productions like Kimmo Hakola´s Le Sacrifice in the Helsinki Festival, Mahler´s Second. Symphony with the CBSO and Sakari Oramo. One of the season’s highlights was her interpretation of Sibelius`s Luonnotar, which received excellent reviews in Frankfurter Allgemeine, Guardian and Helsingin Sanomat. In November 2006 Anu sang a leading role in the very successful world premiere of George Benjamin´s opera Into the little Hill at the
Opera National Bastille.

Komsi has recorded for Deutsche Grammophon, Hänssler Classic, Warner, Ondine, Bis, Alba, and soon to be released Sydän, songs by Saariaho, Kaipainen, Fagerlund and Kuula (Alba) and White as Jasmine by Jonathan Harvey for BBC/Nmc. A recent challenge for Anu Komsi is to spearhead a new Opera Company as its Artistic Director
in her hometown Kokkola, Finland. Kokkola Opera's first production was Mozart´s The Marriage of Figaro in 2006 where Anu also sang the role of Susanna. The production was highly acclaimed in Finland as “Innovation of the Year”. Anu will be singing the leading role of Rosalinda in Kokkola Opera´s new production of Die Fledermaus by J. Strauss in 2007.

Future engagements include productions in Cite de la Musique, Casa da Musica in Porto, Frankfurt Oper, Frankfurt Alte Oper, Lincoln Center Festival with titles by composers like Morton Feldman and George Benjamin. Komsi will tour with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Salonen, with Oramo she will sing her debut with the San Fransisco Symphony Orchestra during the 2007-2008 season.
