HEALTH AND SAFETY

Can you accommodate persons with disabilities?
  • Seating for patrons with wheelchairs is available in a reserved section of Libbey Bowl. Please contact the Box Office as early as possible for special seating requests.
  • A handicapped parking lot is located on Signal Street for vehicles displaying a DMV handicapped parking hang tag or license plate. Early arrival is encouraged, as these spaces tend to fill up.
  • For patrons requiring a short walk into Libbey Bowl, a handicapped drop-off point is located near the Backstage on Signal Street. Please notify the barricade attendant and they will direct you. There is also nearby parking for the drivers of those needing assistance.
  • For listening devices, please visit the Box Office.
  • Public restrooms at the east end of Libbey Park are wheelchair accessible. Please contact an usher if you need assistance.
Can I bring a service animal?

Patrons with disabilities are welcome to bring service animals. Service animals, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), are dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks directly related to a person’s disability. The dog must be able to rest in the seat area of the individual with a disability, excluding aisles or walkways. Please note that any animal whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support does not qualify as a service animal under ADA regulations. We reserve the right to withhold or remove a service dog that fundamentally alters the nature of our programming by behaving in an unacceptable way during a performance, and/or if the person with the disability does not or cannot control the animal.

What do I do if I get sick?

If you are feeling ill or experiencing symptoms related to a cold or infectious disease, we recommend that you stay home.

Do you offer discounts for students or faculty?

Faculty can purchase full series passes and/or single tickets at a 15% discount. Students, when you show your active student ID to the Box Ofice your perks include:
– 30% OFF any ticket order, any time
– RUSH TICKETS: $10 lawn, 50% OFF reserved seating when you buy tickets 30 minutes before the
start of a Libbey Bowl concert

Do you offer discounts for children?

We’re happy to have children enjoy concerts; however, we know they can become restless! If your child needs to stretch their legs, please take them outside the venue so as not to disrupt the concert experience for other patrons. Children age 12 and up are welcome to utilize our student discount for a Libbey Bowl or lawn ticket. We welcome children ages 6 to 11 on our lawn for $5. Children age 5 and under are free on the lawn.

What other discounts do you offer?

Groups of 6 or more receive a group discount on tickets to a single concert. The Festival does not offer senior discounts. Call our box office at 805 646 2053 for information.

What is your refund policy?

All sales are final for Festival tickets and off-season events. There are no refunds or exchanges. In common with other outdoor venues, there are no refunds in case of rain. However, if you turn your tickets back to us for resale we can issue a receipt to you for a tax-deductible donation in the amount of the value of the tickets.

What if I can’t come to a concert I have tickets for?

If you are unable to attend a concert, we can issue a receipt to you for a tax-deductible donation in the amount of the value of the tickets. Returning tickets is greatly appreciated, as we would be able to re-issue tickets. Call the Box Office at 805 646 2053 to return your tickets.

Can I exchange or upgrade my seats?

Yes! Subscribers can exchange tickets without a fee. For single ticket buyers, there is a small exchange fee.

Which are the best seats?

Since the Libbey Bowl is a small amphitheater with less than 1000 seats, virtually all of the seats are relatively close to the stage with good sight lines. A lawn area is also available for those who prefer to picnic while enjoying a performance. We provide ample video screens for the lawn-goers to enjoy the concerts.

Will my seats be in the shade?

That depends on the time of the day. A shade cloth is erected to cover a large portion of the audience section, but we always recommend bringing a hat and sunscreen. A jacket or wrap may be needed for evening concerts.

Can I come in and pick my seats?

Seating is done by our box office staff on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to donors and series pass subscribers. Seating for series pass holders are done in January. Single tickets go on sale in the spring. When purchasing single tickets online, you are able to select your own seat. Please contact the box office with special seating requests and assistance. If you’re in the area, drop by our office at 201 S. Signal Street – we’d love to meet you!

Can I reserve my seats and pay for them when I pick them up?

We can only hold prepaid tickets at Will Call. Tickets can be purchased with your Visa, MasterCard, or American Express.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Where is parking available?

Free parking is available on streets surrounding Libbey Bowl and Libbey Park and in various public lots within a two-block radius. Allow time before concerts to find parking. Handicapped parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis for vehicles displaying a DMV handicapped parking hang tag or license plate. If you need special assistance, call our box office at 805 646 2053.

What are my transportation options?
  • Downtown Ojai is extremely walkable, with stores, restaurants, and more within a two-block radius of Libbey Bowl.
  • The paved Ojai Bike Path runs throughout the city and all the way to Ventura. A local bike shop, The Mob Shop, offers bike rentals. Topa Topa Taxi provides taxi services to destinations throughout the Valley. App-based transportation services like Uber and Lyft are not prevalent or readily available in Ojai.
  • The Ojai Trolley Service can also take you around town! The Trolley runs every 30 minutes. The trolley stops near the Blue Iguana Inn, Capri, Casa Ojai, Chantico, Hummingbird Inn, Ojai Rancho Inn, and the Ojai Valley Inn. On the evenings of THU, FRI, and Sat, the Ojai Trolley will have free late service after the evening concerts, courtesy of the Ojai Music Festival. You can pick-up the Trolley after these evening concerts on Signal Street.
Will there be food?

There will be vendors for light snacks and beverages, as well as concessions for gifts, mementos and souvenirs. You may also bring your own picnic lunch and refreshments for the lawn or in Libbey Park. There is a no alcohol policy in Libbey Park and Libbey Bowl. Ojai has many excellent dining options, see our favorites here, or by downloading our app!

For off-season events, read any materials carefully for information about food and refreshments.

Can I bring alcohol?

Due to the City of Ojai’s policy, alcohol that is purchased in the Festival’s Green Room in the Park must be consumed in the designated restricted areas. Alcohol will be permitted only in the lawn area of the Bowl. We appreciate that patrons do not bring beverages in the reserved seating sections of the Libbey Bowl. No food or drink will be allowed in our off-campus venues.

What is your smoking policy?

Both Libbey Park and Libbey Bowl are designated no-smoking zones by the City of Ojai. The Festival’s office and donor lounge are also nonsmoking areas.

Where can I find an ATM?

There are a few banks within walking distance of Libbey Bowl: Pacific Western Bank (110 S Ventura Street), Bank of America (205 W Ojai Avenue), and Wells Fargo (202 E Matilija Street).

May I bring my pet?

Animals or pets of any kind, with the exception of trained service dogs, are prohibited in Libbey Bowl during concerts, and at off-site concert venues. If you need care for your pet, we recommend Patapooch Pet Care for walking, feeding, and visits, and Ojai Dog Friendly for overnight boarding and daycare.

Patrons with disabilities are welcome to bring trained service animals. Service animals are dogs that meet the requirements of the American Disabilities Act. Service animals must remain on a leash or in a harness at all times and rest in the seating area of the individual with a disability excluding aisles or walkways. Please note that dogs whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support do not qualify as service animals under the American Disabilities Act.

Where is your lost and found?

If you lose or find an item, please check in with the Festival Box Office, located just north of the tennis courts at Libbey Park.

Can I take pictures of the concert?

The use of cameras, audio or video recording devices are not allowed during a performance.

How does the Ojai Music Festival promote environmental sustainability?

The festival strives to minimize its ecological footprint. We encourage you to do your share by separating your trash and using our recycle boxes provided by E.J. Harrison & Sons, and by using our complimentary water refill stations around the Park and inside the Bowl. The same program book can be reused throughout the Festival.

Will my seats be in the shade?

That depends on the time of the day. A shade cloth is erected to cover a large portion of the audience section, but we always recommend bringing a hat and sunscreen. A jacket or wrap may be needed for evening concerts.

What happens if it’s raining?

If rain or showers are in the forecast we will announce any program or venue changes in email communications, on our website, social media platforms, and our free mobile app to our patrons. Like most outdoor venues, the concerts are expected to continue, rain or shine. Please bring what you need to keep warm and comfortable. We recommend ponchos, rain jackets, scarves and hats as the temperatures tend to dip in the evenings in the Libbey Bowl.

How long do the concerts last?

Most of the concerts last about two hours and have an intermission of about 20 minutes.

Will there be late seating?

Performances start at the time designated on your ticket. In deference to the comfort and listening pleasure of the audience, late-arriving patrons will not be seated while music is being performed. Latecomers are asked to wait quietly in the designated area until the first break in the program, when ushers will assist them to their seats.

When should I get there to get the best lawn seats?

We open the Bowl one hour before the start of the concert. Subscribers get in first before single ticket buyers. People often begin lining up well before then. Come early and stake out your space on the lawn. Occasionally, rehearsals may delay the opening of the gates. Click here for more on the lawn experience >>

Can lawn buyers picnic on the lawn?

Yes, please bring blankets to sit, relax and enjoy a meal! Click here for more on the lawn experience >>
