I enjoy the Ojai Music Festival because:

“I loved the accessible pieces.  We brought our 3 month old girl and sat on the grass for the Sunday morning concert, and loved the feeling.

“Include more regional composers, especially from Southern California.  Search for rarely or never heard composers, and rarely heard pieces by composers whose names are otherwise known.”

“This was our first time attending; we will make it a yearly habit.”

“I value the challenging, thought provoking programming and leading artists the most. I consider Ojai to be an opportunity to get to hear music performed that hardly is anywhere else by some of the world’s finest musicians.”

“Coming to Ojai since 2002 has helped me to open my ears and mind to the contemporary and current sounds of living composers and composers of this century.  This has helped to shape my appreciation for this music.  And now I love it!  I don’t think I would have this appreciation if it weren’t for the Ojai experience. “

“This was my fiance’s first year at the Festival, and he loved it. He also said that he would not have enjoyed it nearly as much without Ara’s Friday symposiums. “

“The Festival is like having both Christmas and Thanksgiving together, it is amazing a time I look forward to each year.”

“It was my first festival and I had an amazing experience.  the setting and the chance to hear world class artists, so close, it was wonderful.  i love the adventurousness of the festival.  you educate me (even though it was my first festival, i read the reviews and check out the music!). “

“The more challenging the better, otherwise I’d pick and chose around LA!”

“Programming more new music by up-and-coming composers is far more interesting. It is infinitely preferable to the classics.”

“It is beautifully planned and the atmosphere is friendly. I feel taken care of and considered. Audience is friendly also.”

“We’re always amazed at how much we love the performances here. There are always surprises.”
