MARIA SCHNEIDER, conductor
Composer/conductor Maria Schneider’s 18-piece big band is unique in its exceptional ensemble playing and its members’ extraordinary improvisational abilities, creating new and fresh sound worlds. Her picturesque, colorful and often autobiographical music blurs the lines between jazz and classical, and even carries influences from Spain, Brazil and more.

Maria Schneider will announce the program from the stage.

This breathtaking film documentary written and directed by Mick Sowry explores the collision between classical music and experimental surfing featuring violin virtuoso and surfer ACO’s very own Richard Tognetti with performances of works by Bach and Paganini. 

Programs and artists are subject to change. Main concerts are held at Libbey Bowl.
