Following your visit, retreat for lunch to a private ranch where you will enjoy a sumptuous feast catered by renowned Santa Barbara chef, Chris Abbott, of Savory and Thyme. Your day winds down with a private wine tasting at the bucolic Ojai Vineyard where winemaker, Adam Tolmach, will be your host. As he describes his theories for making these extraordinary wines, relax and sip them straight from the oaken casks. A perfect way to end your Ojai day of Pleasure in Paradise . . .

Join Robert Spano and Jeff Haydon, Ojai Music Festival Executive Director, to share a lovely brunch at an extraordinary Ojai Valley home on Sunday, February 12. The home showcases a fascinating art collection including pieces by Culver City artist, David Spanbock, who will join you to discuss his work. As a memento of the morning, you will receive a signed original drawing by Spanbock and a signed CD from Robert Spano and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. After a leisurely walk around the charming grounds of the east end home, you will wind your way through the orchards to the delightful home of Anna Thomas, the internationally acclaimed cookbook author. As the soup simmers, you will be treated to a tasting of the exquisite Ojai Ridge Wines by winemaker Mark Dufau. A steaming bowl of Love Soup, crusty bread, and a glass of delicious wine…a dreamlike ending to a day among the magical orchards of Ojai.

On Sunday, February 12, Roger Kellaway takes to the ivories for a private jazz piano recital at a stunning Ojai home. Grammy Award winner Kellaway plays to sell out concerts at Carnegie Hall, but today he will play just for you! With over 250 recordings to his name and an international reputation recently honored by the prestigious Prix du Jazz Classique award, Kellaway is a jazz legend. Following your private concert, you’ll be treated to wonderful meal served on the terrace under the oaks of the Ojai estate, paired with delicious wines from Old Creek Winery. To keep the ball rolling, actors Peter Strauss and Rachel Ticotin will engage you in a buoyant bocce ball competition. No sporting experience necessary ~ they will show you the moves as you enjoy the upbeat camaraderie of an idyllic afternoon in Ojai.

A very private and personal experience awaits you at the 2012 Ojai Music Festival. The afternoon before the Festival opening performance (Wednesday, June 6), you will be ushered into Libbey Bowl for exclusive admission to the final rehearsals, a backstage tour, and an opportunity to meet the performers. Following the rehearsals, you will be warmly welcomed to an intimate catered dinner with 2012 Music Director Leif Ove Andsnes and Artistic Director Thomas W. Morris at the fabulous hilltop estate, Hacienda Alegre. For Festival weekend, your special patron pass will admit you to every patron event and the private lounge. You’ll be at the heart of the Festival’s opening and closing parties, VIP areas, and an intimate cocktail buffet party on Friday at a private residence. At the end of the weekend, you will receive signed scores of premiered works as a keepsake of your very special 2012 Festival ~Up Close and Personal weekend in Ojai.

James Newton Howard, eight-time Academy Award-nominated composer, invites you and a guest to join him at a major Hollywood scoring stage as he records his original musical score for the highly anticipated Universal Pictures film Snow White and the Huntsman, starring Kristen Stewart, Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron. Known for composing and scoring movies such as Pretty Woman, The Prince of Tides, Sixth Sense and Michael Clayton, Ojai resident Howard also toured with Elton John. You’ll be given the star treatment as you and your guest are ushered into the studio for a 3-hour orchestra recording session. Your fairytale day will also include a complimentary lunch for two at the studio commissary … and you’ll enjoy a special VIP tour of the studio lot. Enchanting!
