Note that the above photo is from 1973, and we have since instated a capacity for the Libbey Bowl Lawn that doesn’t allow for such dense crowding. See a gallery of more recent Lawn snapshots at the bottom of this page!
Our lawn patrons are welcome to bring a picnic, snacks, or takeout to enjoy during a concert. In fact, the Lawn is the only Ojai Music Festival audience area that is permitted to do so, as there is no food or drink permitted inside the reserved section of Libbey Bowl, nor at off-site concerts.
Per Libbey Park Policy, only alcoholic beverages purchased at the Festival concessions booth, Green Room in the Park, can be consumed on the premises.
Absolutely! As a courtesy to other lawn patrons, blankets and low-rise chairs with legs of 10 inches or shorter are preferred. Patrons with higher-rise chairs, such as camping or deck chairs, may be asked to sit sit in a specific zone by our volunteer ushers.
The Lawn is the ideal place for young families to enjoy the Ojai Music Festival events! We are happy to have children enjoy concerts, and we know they can become restless. If your child needs to stretch their legs, please take them outside the venue so as not to disrupt the concert experience for other patrons. There’s a wonderful playground adjacent to Libbey Bowl.
As for ticketing, children ages 5 and under can enter the Lawn for free, and Lawn tickets for ages 6 to 11 are $5. Students 12 and up are given entry to the Libbey Bowl reserved seating with our student discount price. Read more about student and family discounts here.
Animals or pets of any kind, with the exception of trained service dogs, are prohibited in Libbey Bowl during concerts, and at off-site concert venues, which includes the Lawn. If you need care for your pet, we recommend Patapooch Pet Care for walking, feeding, and visits, and Ojai Dog Friendly for overnight boarding and daycare.
Patrons with disabilities are welcome to bring trained service animals. Service animals are dogs that meet the requirements of the American Disabilities Act. Service animals must remain on a leash or in a harness at all times and rest in the seating area of the individual with a disability excluding aisles or walkways. Please note that dogs whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support do not qualify as service animals under the American Disabilities Act.
